SAGE wood fiber cutting surfaces and tools are the same as those used in professional kitchens for more than 50 years. All Sage products are manufactured by Read Products, a leading food industry leader in Seattle. Introduced in 1962, ReadWoodfiberLaminate® cutting boards,
baking countertops and mixing tools have transformed the commercial food service industry to create durable, durable, hygienic and environmentally friendly products for commercial food preparation.
Is Sage certified by FSC®?
The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting environmentally responsible, socially equitable and economically viable forestry practices.
Products made of wood and marked with the FSC® Chain of Custody (COC) certification number can be traced back to forests that grow and harvest wood according to strict FSC guidelines.
Sage uses less material?
Due to the very dense material, Sage Culinary Surfaces are less than half the thickness of solid wood or plastic sheets.
Is sage made of wood fiber?
The Sage Surfaces & Sage Cook tool is made of READWoodfiberLaminate®, a panel material made of Woodfiber sheet, impregnated with a plastic resin and hot pressed. Since wood fibers can be obtained from wood that is too small for the wood industry, the impact on natural whole wood
resources is small.
Sage has an uncertain life?
Sage Culinary Surfaces and Sage Cook tools last a long time! They will far exceed wood, bamboo, cork and plastic.
Pure and simple color?
Sage Culinary Surfaces are available in natural and slate; Sage Cook Tools has Natural. No dye is added to the natural color. In the new time, the surface is natural and light in color; with age and use, it will darken to rich, reddish brown. To produce the Slate color, dyes are added to the wood fibers early in the process. No dye is added to the resin.
Are you the planet?
Sage not only provides sustainable environmentally friendly products. We also donated 1% of total sales to 1% of the Earth. Sage's contribution is dedicated to planting new trees and educating how to care for our planet.
Read raw materials within 30 miles of the Seattle location. Most of the waste generated during the manufacturing process is brought to the local composting plant with sawdust. The material used to cut the surface is too small to be used to make smaller products for use in other industries, so it is rarely ended in landfills. Read as much as possible to achieve ideas that reduce your carbon footprint.
